The space
We are a young family with 3 kids and lots of friends. We have created a really fun getaway right on the ocean and far enough south that you can do anything you like. The House has everything needed to make everyone in your group happy. Surf or go on adventures all day, knowing the rest of your friends and family will be enjoying the wonderful surroundings, decor and amenities of the house. Wear the kids out on the 15ft trampoline and keep other family members happy with beautifully laundered sheets, soft towels and tasteful design.
Decor:
The house has some great mid-century modern furniture pieces preserved down here in Baja since arriving from the USA in the 60’s. We have also incorporating some fun ideas picked up from holidays in beautiful Tulum in the Yucatán. Like swings in the kitchen instead of bar stools. Hammocks and swings around the fire pit and sand in the garden.
The floors are sealed concrete so you don’t have to be precious and the beds, shelving units and smaller tables around the house are all individually designed and hand built.
Guest access
All parts of the home are accessible to guests, as well as the beach and waves The surf line up rarely has many people in it and everyone is friendly and happy to have surfers of any skill level in the water.
The 4x4 and motorbike trails up and down the coast are amazing. You can take any track you see and go anywhere. There’s are river beds and open flats, massive hills, and the coast is beautiful to look at your speed along.
Interaction with guests
We are always available by phone or text and have a good knowledge of fun things to do in the area. We have a good friend who lives close by and is always happy to help guests should anything come up.

Amenities:
All the usual conveniences of home are realized in a sustainable off-grid environment at Ocean House Baja. We have both solar panels and wind turbines for electricity and run the lights on low energy LED bulbs. The electric current is stored in 12v batteries and converted to 110amp to power the energy efficient fridge and wall sockets.
We have a pressurized well for fresh water, plumbed directly into the house and a Propane tankless water heater to heat water for washing dishes and having showers. The kitchen stove and oven used for cooking are also Propane. A Spare Propane tank will be on site as well.
Bottled drinking water is provided and can be used to make fresh ice for your drinks as well.
For warmth, we provide firewood and extra blankets and recommend you bring pajamas to sleep in as the winter gets cold at night.
If you need to wash clothes there’s a laundry (lavanderia) in town.
