The true backcountry is readily accessible for those adventurous enough to scale some of the nearby peaks into more remote areas. Sightseeing is still spectacular from a vehicle and a drive over the pass to Willow Alaska after July 1st (normal opening day) will end up with numerous opportunities for that real "Alaska postcard" picture. For those looking for winter activities, Skeetawk has recently opened and is planning to expand. This is a new alpine ski area in Hatcher Pass that offers downhill skiing, snowboarding, and other alpine sports. Hatcher Pass also offers access to a variety of other activities in the winter months. The are maintained trail systems for those that enjoy cross country skiing, snowshoeing, or hiking. Snowmobilers can access the Willow side of Hatcher Pass in minutes instead of hours when deploying from the Palmer side. The 2 car garage has an efficiency apartment attached that the owner stays in, but the owner is often not present. The two living areas are separated by the long breezeway that remains locked from laundry area door in the main house to provide privacy for our guests.
