Vinalhaven is an unabridged island off the coast of Maine brimming with beautiful views, magical hiking trails (literally everywhere!), fresh water quarries to swim, lobsters right off the boat and a peaceful quiet that settles any restless soul. The second you get on the ferry (it’s an hour and fifteen minute ferry ride to the island ), you will fall madly, deeply in love! A simple life you sink into and can’t get enough of…
ABOUT THE ISLAND'S RENTAL SEASON
We have a short 3 month tourist season on the island. Camping on public land on the island is not allowed. Camping on private land is allowed.
ABOUT THE BIRDHOUSE TENT
An off the grid, star gazing glamping tent nestled at the edge of a quiet tidal wetlands. *Please note, you are not camping on the ocean's edge.
The island offers dozens of breathtaking hikes available along with ocean’s edge and at different inland locations. All hikes are easy to access! Life is simple and easy being here!

BIKING:
The island is bike friendly. It is approximately 23 square miles. *I do recommend experienced bike riders only, as there are no biking lanes on the island. You are sharing a rural, windy road with cars.
