“Simple, tucked away, studio perched near the water's edge with covered outdoor sitting space. A small pad to retreat to after getting out and exploring coastal Maine.
At day's end, carefully descend rustic, railroad tie, stairs and relax in this cozy studio.
Nothing fancy. Just a place where one (max. two) can "hang their hat" at day's end.
Over half a century ago, when my teenaged brother decided, at the ripe-old age of 15, that since he now had his "first lobster boat", and was all grown up, he was "old enough" to “live on his own”. My wise parents encouraged his independence and updated his basement bedroom to be his own “little pad”. The space has a 3/4 bath (step up), kitchenette (gas stove) and W/D.
A "down home" no-frills, Pied-a-terre. Definitely not in a city. Off the beaten path in a small fishing village. Literally built into the slope of the hill, supporting the main house above. My parents were far ahead of their time.
PS: That boy, turned man - now grandfather - can still be seen plying his trade on his now much larger lobster boat, off the same shore, from the covered deck. A perfect perch, for a short visit.
Bibs and Bobs:
The space has sheets, blankets, towels, dishes, flatware, pots and pans, a couch, television w/ Comcast cable and internet, table (2 chairs), a rocking chair near the gas stove and deck furniture for dining al fresco, including a BBQ grill..
Our family antique full-sized bed in the bedroom (our great grandmother's with a custom mattress) is cozy, but may not be a match if you are very tall.
If you need a safe, clean, minimal, place to hang your hat for a week or two, our “diamond in the rough” might just be right for you.
This is our home, please make sure these house rules work for you, before booking:
1. So sorry no pets.
2. No smoking of any kind.
As odors carry, and waft in the sea breeze, if you desire to smoke, this is not the spot for you.
3. Please use caution on the rustic, railroad tie, stairs. Not suitable for children or mobility impaired.
4. When booking, kindly note our stays are:

Check-in is Sat. at 4:00 PM
Check-out is Sat at 10:00 AM
7 night minimum.
If your travel plans require arrivals/departures on any other day, than Saturdays, feel free to book as many weeks as needed to encompass your travel plans. We have contactless check-in and check-out for your convenience.
