1 Bedroom House in Hartford, Del Rio
**Winter notice**
RUNNING WATER IS INOPERABLE DURING WINTER MONTHS DUE TO FREEZING TEMPERATURES. IF THIS NOTICE IS HERE, RUNNING WATER WILL BE SHUT OFF TO AVOID DAMAGE TO PIPES.
Stay in our Foraging Orange 60s vintage camper and enjoy the sounds of nature and feel the tranquility. Your site comes with its own fire pit, outdoor camping shower, and a 10 acre forest to frolic!
The Foraging Orange has its own kitchen, 2 beds, a dining area, and a classic icebox (don't forget the ice)!
You are minutes from the Martha Sundquist State Forest, 15 minutes to whitewater rafting and ziplining, a 45 minute scenic drive away from Gatlinburg, and a 1 hour scenic drive to Asheville.
Your adventure awaits, but first, just a few things to know to help get ready for your stay! Staying in our 60's Foraging Orange vintage camper is truly a unique and off-grid experience. Take a break from the hustle and bustle and truly disconnect with no wifi or cell reception (If there is an emergency, we have a landline and wifi at our home). Enjoy the morning song birds with a cup of tea or coffee made in your French press!
Your camper has running water fed from our mountain spring. This water is not for potable purposes. Please bring your own drinking water for coffee, tea, etc.
The Foraging Orange is completely solar powered! The solar system also allows you to charge phones and other USB charging devices.
Propane is used to heat the camper in the winter as well as for the stove top and oven. Please notify us if you would like the heat turned on.
Your camper features an antique icebox! Simply bring a bag of ice, place it on the ice shelf to cool the box, and fill with your food! The icemelt will drain outside of the camper automatically. Make sure to refill ice as needed to keep your icebox cool.
An outhouse is a short walk from your space down a magical forest path with fairy lights to illuminate your path in the evening. The artwork on the outhouse was done by local artists Roxie and Ryan Denney. These are well known artists in the Smokies and they have beautiful artwork, sculptures, etc. in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge! In addition to the outhouse, your camper has a "pee potty" that can be used in the camper. You will need to empty the potty into the outhouse should you chose the use it. It is ideal for restroom needs in the middle of the night, for example.
Our outdoor shower is rustic and allows you to shower amongst the trees. A shower bag will need to be filled up with water and set in the sun in order to be heated with solar power.
You are welcome to have a campfire in your sites firepit. Feel free to forage already fallen wood (that is not covered with moss) on the property. Please do not disturb or cut down any live foliage and do your best to stay on paths. If you choose to bring your own wood, ONLY buy wood in the local area. Bringing wood from other areas risks introducing invasive species and pests into the ecosystem.
