Maine island cottage located at the end of Matinicus Island Breakwater overlooking the working harbor, Wheaton Island and Matinicus Rock Lighthouse to your south and the Atlantic Ocean to your east. The cottage is located just a short walking distance to sandy beaches and rocky coast hiking. Gravel roads and wooded island trails allow you to explore the island by foot or by bike.
While staying at the cottage you can enjoy Maine lobsters while sitting on your harborside deck. The cottage provides all the amenities for a "home away from home" get away. First floor: Fully outfitted kitchen, bathroom, a dining nook overlooking the harbor, a dining room ,living room space to curl up and read, play a game or put together a puzzle, outside deck. Second floor: you will find three bedrooms- one with two twin beds, one with a queen bed, a master with queen bed and full bathroom. All with ocean views. Extras: Breakwater side platform with seating, washer/dryer on site, grill and lobster cooker. Transportation to and from the island is limited so you must be strategic in planning your transportation. There are no stores or restaurants on the island. This is a carry in, carry out island.
