Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: I really liked the atmosphere of having so many other travellers around, and the people in the room for the nights I was there were pleasant and kind. It had enough fridge space for everyone, and the bathroom was kept clean enough to use. It is rather small, but nothing too bad for a short stay. The outdoor spaces were pleasant as well, nice to go out and eat a meal in the night air.

Negative: I wasn't impressed by the staff, but they are volunteers and rather young so there isn't much to be done. The person who checked me in just wasn't welcoming, but it was easy to shrug off. I was frustrated by the fact that they didn't have any locks available for rental and expected me to go buy a lock for myself to use the lockers. I was only there for two nights, so there was no way I was going to be doing that and just ended up sleeping with my things by me in the single bed. As well, I had people turning on the lights at nearly two in the morning. The top bunks are not remotely covered away from any of the lights; so if the bunk below turns on the light or even worse, someone in the room turns on the overhead light? It's waking you up, and folks have little concept of sharing a space.

Summary: Cheap and cheerful. Great for a short stay, lots within walking distance as well.
