** New to VRBO “The Old Fashioned Sweet Cottage” is the perfect cottage rental near Big Silver Lake for an escape with your family or a few close friends. Do you need to truly getaway from it all? Come to "The Old Fashioned Sweet" to de-stress and escape to a simpler time.
The cottage is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage that sleeps 6 people. A perfect cottage to bring your speedboat or jet skis with direct lake access to Big Silver Lake. The cottage is within walking distance to a boat lift where you can put in your own boat, paddle boards or kayaks and/or bring your boat trailer back to park at our home. (without paying The Big Silver Lake daily fees for parking your trailer at the public launch) Silver Lake is known for its amazing 328 acres of clear water and sandy shorelines. There is a maximum depth of 50 feet and fish include Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye.
Things we love about "The Old Fashioned Sweet Vintage Cottage" include the large screened front porch with partial views of Big Silver Lake and wonderful views of northern pine trees and passerby taking a stroll or bike ride. We also have preserved the true "vintage" feel of our 1950's cottage while updating amenities such as the bathroom and kitchen where needed. Enjoy items from the 1950's and beyond while truly getting away and unplugging from modern day. It is our favorite escape to truly get away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Turn off your phones and play a board game with the family. Unplug and unwind while reading a book on our hammock or chaise lounge. Enjoy one of our movies on VHS or DVD. Make the kids unplug their phones and enjoy smores around the firepit. Fall asleep to the sound of toads in the lake.
We have lots of ideas and suggestions of things you can do but, above all just relax and enjoy your stay.
The “Old Fashioned Sweet Vintage Cottage” is a two bedroom, one bathroom home. One bedroom has a queen bed, the other bedroom has two twin beds. Downstairs there is a sleeper sofa that can sleep two. The bathroom has a walk-in shower. The cottage sleeps 6 people and due to our plumbing system etc we ask you not to go over that amount of people unless you have special permission (example young children etc.). We love that you truly feel "Up North" without having to drive too far away from Milwaukee or Chicago.
Renters must be at least 25 years old.
PETS: Pets are allowed on the property if you pay the pet fee.
BOATS: We provide renters use of two kayaks. If interested in pontoon or ski boat rental inquire at Blackhawk Marine or Mark’s Marine in Wautoma. Our home is the perfect cottage for people who would like to use Big Silver Lake for boating activities but, don't want to pay the daily parking fee and/or don't have a pass to park. Our home is so close to one of the boat ramps that you can walk to it.
There is so much to do in and around Wautoma and Waushara County.
