This classic Nantucket-style colonial home on a wooded bluff overlooks the Old Silver Beach estuary. The gracious foyer leads to an elegantly furnished living room with its wide-planked floors and black granite gas fireplace, reminiscent of a sea captain's home with art and furniture from travels afar. Large windows look over a treed, front patio and a brick backyard patio and water views.
The dining room seats eight with French doors leading to the backyard patio and outdoor dining area and 'living room.' The fully equipped kitchen has granite countertops, stainless-steel appliances, and a gas stove. The first floor has a large bedroom with a queen size bed adjacent to a renovated bathroom. A carpeted staircase leads to a bright, second floor family/TV lounge with beautiful garden and water views. Decorated as an African safari lodge, the lounge 'transports' you to East Africa. The second floor has three bedrooms (master with California king size bed; bedroom with queen and one twin; bedroom/study with one twin) and a renovated bathroom. Laundry facilities are in the basement. There is an outdoor shower for use when returning from the beach. The wooded property provides maximum privacy, and viewpoints overlooking the estuary gives the feeling of a nature park.
The home is a 5-minute stroll to one of Cape Cod's premiere beaches, Old Silver, with its white sand, shallow calm warm water on Buzzard's Bay. Adjacent to the house is conservation land with horse trails, cranberry bogs, a bird sanctuary, two ponds, and the Shining Path bike path to Woods Hole, where you can catch the ferry to Martha's Vineyard. Shopping, dining and entertainment are close by. Falmouth Village is 15 minutes by car. Easy access from the Bourne Bridge makes exploring the area convenient.
