This is a beautiful completely renovated light filled historic waterfront 3 bedroom house in the Avondale section of Solomons, MD. Solomons is a historic fishing village on the Western Shore of the Chesapeake Bay and is bounded by the Patuxent River to the South. Baltimore and DC are less than an hour away. The property slopes gently down to a private & protected cove of the Chesapeake Bay. There is a crab shack and dock where sunsets can be viewed and cocktails appreciated.
The house was designed by an architect for his own year round use, and is a perfect blend of historical charm and luxe settings. The house has 3 bedrooms and 2-1/2 baths and a first floor den/office with a queen sized sleeper sofa. The family room has a large TV, wood burning fireplace, panoramic windows towards the water and direct access to a screened porch. The gourmet chefs kitchen has a complete wall of windows to enjoy the view as you cook. Professional grade appliances and slate countertops complement the pale yellow cabinets. The dining room is in the oldest part of the house along with the den. In addition to the screened porch, there is a front porch, rear terrace and lounge chairs, fire pit and additional outdoor furniture by the crab shack to relax and enjoy the view any time of the day or night. The primary bedroom has a king bed, sitting area, walk in closet and a en-suite bathroom. The Guest Room has a king bed and cathedral ceiling. It shares a adjacent hall bath with a tub & shower with the 'Kids' bedroom with 2 twin beds. There is also a full laundry room on the second floor. The sleeper sofa in the den allows at least 8 people to sleep comfortably in the house. Multiple zones of central heating and cooling ensure year round comfort. The finest natural materials and finishes are found thru-out the house.
Guest access
Guests have full access of the entire property during their stay with the exception of the interior of the 'barn', and any of the boats that are tied up at the docks. We encourage you to crab and fish, and provide gear to do so. We have 2 complementary cruiser bikes for your use, and paddle boards and a Hobie pedal kayak are available for an additional charge. Dinghy docking for visitors who arrive by boat can be accommodated.
Other things to note
The house is maintained by us and our guests to be well stocked for the next renter. By following a replace what you used, supplement as necessary, your can make your own and everyone else after your visit have an enjoyable stay. There are also beach towels for swimming and watersport activities. Solomons is a year round destination with activities and interests that extend well beyond summer water related activities. Historic St. Marys City is a short drive away, and DC & Baltimore are less than an hour away each.
